Well I have to admit it, I'm working with pine & contiboard (that white plastic covered chip board stuff I think it's know as contiboard - meubelplaat here in NL) and I'm making a cupboard to match some IKEA wardrobes we have in our bedroom. Not my normal fair but the price for all the wood was only 30€ so not bad, and the match is the important thing not the material.
It's funny, IKEA bang out some quite nice furniture and cheap as fritjes (chips), and I never thought I would do a direct copy of an IKEA thing. However we have a 60 deg roof on one section of the house and under that lies our bedroom. Having such a steep roof means a triangular space at the end of the two wardrobes. So I am making a traingular white cupboard, with grooved white sprayed doors and a lower double cupboard and drawer. Making a cupboard vertical section that bends 60 deg half way up was interesting, but with glue and biscuits it should be strong enough. Especially as the pine will be sprayed, that can cover a multitude of sins and jointing techniques.
