Henk de Poot and I had an interesting chat the other day at Enschede, we were mulling over the fact that TV is maybe the best example of storytelling in action that we have. We mused as to how story tellers of old bent and changed their stories to suit the audience, embelishing or down playing certain aspects of narrative styles to help with their delivery, this was improvised and not planned.
It struck me further in the car today that interactive TV (at least what I have seen of the new super BBC digital service) has the chance to hook the story teller (TV presenter) to the audience (not those in the studio and their canned laughter but you and I). They can interact virtually live wth feedback, voting, choices etc etc
The BBC service meld together internet, collboration, user choice and program delivery, it is early days yet but TV may be our collaboration chaneel of choice in the years to come. CoP's via the TV, blogs on the TV hmm
Lets hope the BBC survive their current mini crisis and keep innovating, to me they are one of the nations crown jewels - especially BBC Wales of course. Link
